Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport is about 33 miles from Hilton Head Island by road. The drive takes 45 to 60 minutes on US-278, and closer to 70 minutes during summer weekends and Saturday changeover days.

Every Palmetto Car Service transfer is private. Your vehicle carries your party alone and drives directly to your address with no additional stops. We do not operate a shared-ride program.
Where does my driver meet me at Savannah Airport?
Your driver meets you at baggage claim on the lower level and assists with your luggage. At Signature Aviation and Sheltair Aviation, your driver meets you planeside.
Do you provide car seats?
Yes, on a first-come basis, at $25 per seat. Specify front-facing, rear-facing, toddler, or booster in the Special Instructions box at checkout. You must install and secure the seat yourself, which is a liability requirement. You are also welcome to bring your own, and most airlines check car seats free of charge.
Can you carry golf bags?
Yes. Palmetto Car Service accommodates golf bags in our SUVs and vans. Soft cases only, as hard cases do not fit reliably. Note the number of bags in the Special Instructions box so we assign a vehicle with adequate cargo space.
Do you allow pets?
Yes. Small pets in an appropriate carrier travel for an $8 fee per pet, and the pet must be declared at booking or service will be refused at pickup. Carriers larger than 20 by 20 by 18 inches may require a larger vehicle. Properly harnessed service animals travel free and are exempt from the carrier requirement, but must rest at the owner’s feet rather than occupy a seat.
Can I book a last-minute ride?
Same-day rides are subject to availability. Reservations placed after 9:00 PM may not be confirmed until 8:00 AM the next morning, so call 843-981-1111 directly for anything urgent rather than booking online.
Do you take groups?
Yes. Our 14-passenger vans handle families, wedding parties, golf groups, and corporate teams in a single vehicle. Larger groups are served with multiple vehicles booked under one reservation.
Do you pick up at Charleston or Jacksonville airports?
No. Charleston International Airport and Jacksonville International Airport are drop-off destinations only. Palmetto Car Service does not run pickups from CHS or JAX.
